Music

Statement of Purpose

The purpose of music ministry in the local church is committed to the glory of God, the edifiication of the saints, and the furtherance of the gospel of Jesus Christ to the ends of the earth.  Its ministries are musical in content, Christ centered in nature, and educational in structure.  It's goal is not only present development, but the continuance of music and ministry throughout the ages.  Music has historically held a high position in the worship of God, the communication of the gospel, and the development of saints.  It's sole purpose in existence, in the signature of Johann Sebastian Bach, is "soli Deo Gloria!" - "Only for the glory of God."

Worship

The primary purpose of all we do muscially in the church is to further the actual worship of believers, to expand their understanding of what worship is, and to draw them into an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ, the object of focus of worship.
Education

Music Ministry is an educational ministry.  It is designed to teach children, youth, and adults musical skills, communication skills, performance skills, worship skills, and evangelism skills.  Music ministry should prepare young men and women for full time ministry, evangelism, missions, and lifestyle presentation of the gospel.

Evangelism & Missions

Music Ministry should demonstrate the sharing of the gospel through work outside the walls of the worship center and rehearsal room.  Train and encourage members to share their faith through singing, musical instruments, performance,  and lifestyle evangelism.  Encourage the pursuit of mission opportunities to grow, to teach, to learn, adn to share the gospel of Jesus Christ.
